I am an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Political Science & Philosophy at the University of Missouri – Kansas City, with research specializations in Ethics, Social-Political Philosophy, and the Philosophy of Martin Luther King, Jr. I have a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Texas A&M University, complemented by an M.A. in Communication (concentration in political rhetoric) from the same institution. This combination of philosophical rigor and communication expertise informs my research, teaching, and engagement in public philosophy.
My publications include articles developing a novel account of humility, examining the compatibility of humility and social activism, and analyzing the application of MLK's concept of agape to address political polarization in contemporary society.
I have taught a wide-range of courses, including introductory courses in philosophy, logic, and ethics. I have taught upper division courses in theoretical and applied ethics, social-political philosophy, the philosophy of MLK, and am currently developing a course on philosophy of religion.
Beyond academia I have spearheaded public philosophy initiatives such civic leadership forums, community discussions, and radio appearances.
